PE UPDATE with Ms. Kovacs

This month has been action-packed with Fit You 2022 challenges and activities!

Students have had opportunities to do weekly mental health and fitness challenges this month. These consisted of a Mitzvah Bingo, Try Something New Challenge, fitness shoe and a healthy food swap. A lot of fitness activities were planned for each class this month, including a Division 2 Bike trip, picnics and of course the annual TT Maccabi games. This year School Council arranged for a ninja obstacle course, including tug of war, as well as an epic dunk tank! Teachers Moreh Ben, Ms. Lindsey and Ms. Soroka got dunked many times by students, and so did Talmud Torah Society’s Executive Assistant, Natalie Soroka. It was a cool and breezy day, with very little sun, so they were all very good sports! The dunk tank will almost certainly be returning next year! We can’t forget the epic kickball tournament between the staff and Gr. 5/6 students! It was neck and neck for all the innings, and the staff squeaked out a 9-8 win, but barely!

Also during June Fit You students attended an Orange Theory assembly where students enjoyed motivating their teachers to exercise and achieve certain goals on the bike, rowing machine, and floor work. Our Division 2 students even had the opportunity to try the equipment themselves. Thanks to Orange Theory for coming out for this awesome event!

Now that TT students are fit and ready to go for summer, here’s wishing them an active, fun and healthy summer vacation!
