What To Expect

Existing Talmud Torah families are welcome and encouraged to send their kids to AJP and prospective families will be encouraged to enroll in both TT and AJP as the program has been created for current Talmud Torah students.

The program will be for students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 at an annual cost of up to $2,000 in addition to TT tuition. AJP will be held in the morning from 8:00 to 8:20 am for tefilla (open to all students attending the school at no additional charge) and after school for approximately 1.5 hours (until 5:00). There will also be a recess break after school to allow the students a break.

AJP is open to all Talmud Torah students, regardless of background. We believe that each student has his or her unique contribution to make to the Jewish community. To nurture this, our students receive weekly one-on-one time with teachers to foster reading, learning and Tefillah. At AJP, we believe in the premise of דרכו פי על לנער חנוך, teaching each and every student according to her or his ability.

Our Mission

The Ancillary Jewish Program at Talmud Torah, AJP@TT, looks to our rich Jewish tradition to build the future. Our mission is to complement the already outstanding Jewish and secular education at Talmud Torah School by connecting our students to more Judaic traditions and teachings.

In doing so, we hope to provide the diverse student body at Talmud Torah community with an optional curriculum that cultivates a passion and love for the Torah, Mitzvot and Medinat Israel.

About Us

AJP is Edmonton’s largest option for Orthodox Jewish education. Graciously hosted by the Edmonton Talmud Torah Society, we offer daily Tefillah (prayers) prior to the start of school with age-appropriate lessons for each age group. At the end of the Talmud Torah school day, we provide engaging, text-based classes in Chumash (bible), Navi (prophets), Mishnah (Oral torah) and Halacha (Jewish practice). Additionally, on Thursday afternoons, we offer an experiential education day with a focus on Parshat Hashavua and upcoming holiday.

The Kadima Foundation

AJP works proudly alongside the Talmud Torah Society with the goal of providing diverse Jewish educational opportunities for Edmonton’s Jewish community. AJP is operated by the Kadima Foundation, an independent organization registered by the CRA as a charitable organization. All personnel and curricular decisions are conducted by the Kadima board and its hired personnel. All funds are raised independently.
