Joseph Tappenden attended Talmud Torah from Kindergarten to Grade 9, graduating Grade 6 in 1999. His classmates and teachers knew him, and continue to know him, as Joey. Joey’s most cherished friendships were formed as a result of his time spent at Talmud Torah. Some of Joey’s fondest memories are:

Currently living in Calgary, Joey has built a career serving the Alberta Jewish community, where he has worked with BBYO, Jewish Federation of Edmonton and, most recently, serving as the Director of Marketing and Advancement for the Calgary Jewish Academy. Joey’s wife of 2 years, Mira, is also a graduate of Jewish day school, and their daughter Daphne will begin her Jewish day school journey in September of 2024. (Feb. 2022)

Update: As of November 2024 – Joey is now the Director of Philanthropy for the Jewish Community Foundation of Calgary.
